Orphaned at a young age by a mysterious evil, Bod escapes from the murderer to a nearby graveyard, and is unofficially adopted by the residents. The Graveyard Book is a story made up of multiple shorter segments, which chronicle the childhood and teenage years of Nobody “Bod” Owens and his unusual family. I’m only mentioning the dates of publication here to be clear of what order the books came in, for those who don’t know. Rowling, published between 19, as well as The Secret of Platform 13, by Eva Ibbotson, published in 1994. While writing this, I reference the Harry Potter series, by J.K. This review contains most of my criticisms of the book, as well as the parts that stood out as enjoyable. I know a lot of people love this book, but I couldn’t get into the story at all. I read The Graveyard Book, by Neil Gaiman, a few months ago, and I was actually pretty disappointed. ![]()
